If you use cloth diapers for your baby, check and change diapers more often. Vaseline oil, zinc oxide ointment or diaper rash cream also helps protect the skin from moisture. Baby powder may make your baby's skin feel very comfortable, but it is not the best for babies. Baby powder can reduce the friction between the diaper and the child's skin in a short time, but once it is wet (the child will definitely wet it!), it is useless. Your baby may even inhale a lot of powder, which can be very dangerous. As the child continues to grow, the number of diaper changes will gradually decrease, starting with an average of ten times a day, and gradually reducing to six times. Change of diapers is usually done before or after each breastfeeding and after each bowel movement. There is also the change of diapers for the child while he/she is still awake before going to bed. You should also change your diapers before taking your children out. When changing diapers, you should have at hand: ·a clean diaper·diaper rash cream or petroleum jelly·a soft towel and a small basin of warm water. Be sure to prepare everything before you start. Never leave the baby alone. On the changing table! Remove the wet diapers first. If it’s just wet, just replace it with one instead of cleaning the genital area. If the diaper is still stained with stool, the child’s buttocks should be cleaned with a towel and warm water. There is no need to use soap, unless the child has diarrhea and it will not be cleaned by washing with water only. When necessary, soft soap can be used (even soft soap will eliminate important natural oils on the child's skin). Then, apply ointment or petroleum jelly and put on clean diapers.
